The Opportunity
You will work closely with Maria Valenzuela, Partner of Family
Law and relationship be trusted to manage your own practice across either a
broad range of parenting and/or property matters. Our teams are structured to
deal with either mainly complex parenting matters and complex parenting matters
and complex property matters.
You will have the autonomy to run your files, build strong
client relationships, play an active role in mentoring junior lawyers and
paralegals as the team continues to grow and develop strong business
development skills.
This is a role for someone who enjoys advocacy, strategy,
client engagement, and wants to become a recognised leader within a successful
Family Law practice.
Responsibilities
- Manage your own Family Law matters from commencement through to resolution
- Conduct either complex parenting or complex property matters
- Appear in Court, mediations, conciliations and dispute resolution conferences
- Draft Court documents, affidavits, submissions and correspondence
- Provide strategic advice to clients through sensitive and complex situations
- Brief and liaise with Counsel
- Mentor and support junior lawyers and paralegals
- Contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the Family Law team
- Build and maintain strong referral and professional relationships
- Build and/or grow strong business development skills
About You
You will ideally have:
- 3 or plus years PQE practising predominantly in Family Law
- Strong technical knowledge across parenting and property matters
- Experience managing your own files with minimal supervision
- Excellent drafting, advocacy and communication skills
- Strong client relationship management abilities
- A collaborative leadership style and willingness to mentor junior team members
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to practice development
- A genuine passion for Family Law and helping clients navigate challenging circumstances
