We are seeking

We are seeking a practical and hands-on Installation Technician to support the assembly and installation of specialised mental health and healthcare infrastructure solutions.

This role requires strong troubleshooting capability, attention to detail and confidence working both within a workshop environment and independently on-site. The successful candidate will be involved in assembling components in our Prestons workshop before travelling to customer sites to complete installations and resolve technical issues.

The successful candidate will

Support the safe and efficient assembly, transport and installation of specialised healthcare products across customer sites. They will work closely with project, production and operations teams to ensure installations are completed to a high standard while maintaining strong customer communication, workmanship and safety practices.

The role requires regular travel across the country when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble specialised door systems and healthcare components within the workshop
  • Install assembled systems, mechanisms and access hardware on-site
  • Troubleshoot installation and component-related issues
  • Read and interpret installation drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate installation activities with internal teams and subcontractors
  • Support transport and installation readiness of assembled components
  • Maintain installation quality, safety and compliance standards
  • Travel regularly to customer sites across the country when required

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Strong hands-on assembly and installation capability
  • Experience with carpentry, locksmithing, door hardware, fit-out or similar installation environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements
  • Ability to work independently on-site and within a team environment
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Must be located within approximately 45 minutes of Prestons, NSW

Desirable

  • Experience in healthcare, construction or regulated environments
  • Experience with access control hardware or mechanism installation
  • Site service technician or commercial installation experience
