Accommodation Maintenance Assistant

Our Hillsong College team is looking for a casual Accommodation Maintenance Assistant to join the team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, upkeep, and maintenance of college accommodation properties. This includes conducting regular inspections, attending to repairs, and providing support to enhance the quality of the student living experience.

Other aspects of this role include:

Maintenance & Repairs

• Complete a repair inventory at the beginning of each semester to identify maintenance needs.
• Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on college accommodation properties as required.
• Maintain college lawn mowers, tools, and vans, ensuring they are kept in good condition and are regularly serviced.
• Attend to gardening needs, including lawn mowing, whipper-snipping, and weed spraying at college properties.

Furniture and Equipment Management

• Assist with the removal of leftover furniture from properties.
• Arrange for mattress and bedframe deliveries as needed.

Student Support

• Transport students to their new homes upon arrival, ensuring their bedroom choices and the delivery of appropriate bedframes and mattresses are documented.
• Assist students with moves across properties if initiated by the college.
• Provide assistance during exit inspections and other inspections as required.

Quality Improvement

• Gather feedback from students and collaborate with the Business Manager to implement improvement strategies or projects to enhance the student living experience.

Ideally, the successful candidate will bring:

• Experience in property maintenance, repair work, or a similar field.
• Competency in using tools, lawn care equipment, and vehicles.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
