Our Hillsong CItyCare team are currently looking for a part time (3days/week) Community Worker to join the team at our Brisbane City location. This role will be responsible for assisting with the effective implementation, delivery and evaluation of campus-based community impact programs, campaigns, and initiatives, through coordinating daily activities for the program.

Other aspects of this role include:

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

  • Develop, maintain, and build positive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the program meets its objectives.
  • Build bridges between the campus and the community, and build networks & partnerships with other community organisations.
  • Perform research to understand community’s needs in respect to providing a beneficial and valuable service.
  • Model client service in building a strong referral system to ensure people have options for holistic solutions as well as understand and apply strength-based & asset-based principle to interactions with people.

CAMPUS RELATIONS & VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT

  • Understand and implement the strategic social impact priorities for local campus in partnership with Campus Pastor and campus team.
  • Develop and sustain effective campus relationships that are collaborative, scalable, and aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Effectively recruit, train, and develop volunteers to facilitate community programs & activities within the program design.
  • Effectively retain volunteers through ensuring their contributions are recognised and that they are cared for pastorally.

ADMINISTRATION

  • In partnership with line manager, effectively manage the finances for your program activities through ensuring timely payment of invoices and reconciliations while adhering to budget requirements.
  • Plan, schedule and organise program activities to be outworked in partnership with the campus and partners.
  • Follow and adhere to Hillsong CityCare process and reporting and evaluation requirements for program activities & progress and volunteer recruitment.
  • Manage volunteer recruitment, training and teams through Hillsong systems.

PROGRAM COORDINATION

  • Support the development of the program(s).
  • Support the development of activity plans to ensure the program works effectively.
  • Provide on-the-ground support for campaigns and community activities and programs, incl. facilitating programs (i.e. playgroup, Shine & Strength, community spaces)

Ideally, the successful candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, e.g., Social Work or Community Development preferred
  • 2–3 years’ experience in community development, social services, or a similar program support/coordination role.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating daily program activities, supporting project implementation, and engaging with diverse communities.
  • Understanding of community development principles, social inclusion, and capacity building.
  • Basic knowledge of program evaluation frameworks and monitoring tools.
  • Awareness of cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities or marginalised populations
