Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Local Cleaner to join our team in Mount Morgan, Queensland, within the mining industry. The Site Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe environment across Heritage Minerals operational facilities. This casual part-time role is essential for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in our facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude and a commitment to high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities 

General Housekeeping 

  • Clean and maintain site facilities including offices, crib rooms, ablution blocks and common areas. 
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and sanitising surfaces. 
  • Clean bathrooms and amenities ensuring adequate supplies of consumable (toilet paper, soap, paper towels) 
  • Manage waste disposal, recycling and removal of rubbish in accordance with the stie procedures. 
  • Clean windows, walls, floors and fixtures as required. 

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) 

  • Comply with all Heritage Minerals safety policies, procedures and site rules. 
  • Identify and report hazards, incidents or maintenance issues to supervisors. 
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS). 
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene to support workforce health and wellbeing. 

Equipment and Supplies 

  • Correctly use and maintain cleaning equipment and tools. 
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and report low stock levels. 
  • Ensure storage areas are kept clean, organised and secure. 

General Duties 

  • Work cooperatively with site services and operations staff. 
  • Maintain professionalism and respect when working in occupied areas. 
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably directed to support site. 

Key Relationships 

  • Health and Safety Superintendent 
  • Site-based employees and contractors 
  • Camp and facilities personnel. 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications 

Essential 

  • Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping or a similar role (industrial or commercial environment preferred) 
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively 
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements 
  • Physically capable of performing manual tasks, including lifting and prolonged standing. 
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to high standards of cleanliness. 

Desirable 

  • Experience in a mining or remote site environment. 
  • Knowledge of infection control and hygiene standards. 
  • Current manual handling training.
