We are seeking a Licensed Customs Broker
to join our team. This key position plays an essential role in ensuring the
accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of all customs brokerage operations while
providing guidance to team members and maintaining productive relationships
with clients, government departments, and industry stakeholders.
About the Role
This position can be based in any of our Australian offices — Brisbane, Sydney,
Melbourne, Adelaide, or Perth.
Key Responsibilities
- Formally lodge import and export customs declarations
- Mentor and support compiling/classifying team members
- Assess and verify commodity and non-commodity documentation for compliance and accuracy
- Classify a diverse range of commodities in accordance with relevant Acts and Regulations
- Identify and apply the lowest applicable rates of duty and GST for all entries
- Prepare accurate responses to Compliance Program (CP) inquiries with supporting documentation
- Ensure DAFF and IFIP directions align with required outcomes
- Provide high-level technical customer service and advice internally and externally
- Assist with internal audits and complete refunds/drawbacks as required
- Collaborate with our advisory team on complex trade and compliance matters
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs, biosecurity, and trade legislation
- Attend relevant seminars and training (online and face-to-face)
- Monitor government relations and border watch

About You
- Current Australian Customs Broker Licence
- Up-to-date Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record

19.1 and 9.2 Approved Arrangement Accreditation with DAFF
- Strong understanding of customs legislation, international shipping regulations, and INCOTERMS
- Experience with CW1 preferred
- Knowledge of BICON and COLS systems
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills
- Team-focused and motivated to uphold a high standard of compliance and professionalism
