The opportunity
We’re looking for a Media & Communications Coordinator to join our
People, Culture & Communications team. This role supports
the delivery of strategic communications and media engagement activities that
enhance the organisation and its programs’ reputation, visibility, and
stakeholder relationships. The Media & Communications Coordinator reports
to the Marketing & Communications
Manager and is a permanent full-time role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, editing, distributing/pitching media releases in line with journalistic
standards (newsworthiness, clarity, and structure) in conjunction with assigned
program deliverables
- Developing media materials including fact sheets, talking points, and briefing notes
- Developing and delivering clear, concise, audience-focused internal and external
communications
- Producing high-quality copy across a range of formats including website content, reports and
professional publications, speeches and presentations, and marketing and
campaign materials
- Monitoring assigned social channels daily and engage with stakeholders through comments and direct messages, aligned to brand voice
- Monitoring media, digital platforms, and public sentiment, providing updates and insight to
Marketing & Communications Manager
About you
Ideally, you will share our vision to lead the change that will deliver an environment for future generations to thrive. To be successful in this role, you will have all or many of the following requirements:
- Previous experience in communications, media, PR, or media-related role
- Experience drafting media releases, communications, and digital content
- Previous exposure to stakeholder engagement and developing thought leadership opportunities
- Basic understanding of media performance metrics and reporting
- Familiarity with CMS platforms, email marketing tools, and media
monitoring platforms
- Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and attention to detail
- Well developed organisational, prioritisation, and time management skills
