The opportunity

We’re looking for one (1) Project Officer to join the Land Restoration team, who deliver strategic on-ground projects to improve the condition of South East Queensland’s environment. The Environmental Project Officer will support the delivery of contracted project works including revegetation, weed control and erosion control activities. The Environmental Project Officer reports directly to the Team Lead and is a full-time role, 18 months contract.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Scoping and planning for delivery of revegetation, weed control and erosion control project works
  • Engaging and overseeing sub-contractors in delivery of on-ground works
  • Completing project administration requirements including reporting and milestone tracking
  • Contributing to project management requirements including detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
  • Analysing technical and project management problems and recommending solutions
  • Providing technical and analytical guidance to project works
  • Engaging stakeholders, including landholders and community, to negotiate outcomes for assigned project works

About you

Ideally, you will share our vision to lead the change that will deliver an environment for future generations to thrive. You will be highly motivated and can work autonomously in agreed timeframes. To be successful in this role, you will have all or many of the following requirements:

  • Qualifications in Science, Environment, Project Management, or relevant discipline
  • Experience delivering projects on ground in line with WHS requirements and applying risk management
  • Ability to produce and format technical documents, proposals, and spreadsheets
  • Excellent knowledge of natural resource management
  • High level communication skills, written and verbal
  • Knowledge of stakeholder engagement across First Nations, Government, Research, Utilities, and Community
  • Current manual QLD driving licence
