HBT Services QLD is responsible for the overhauls of longwall machinery across QLD and operates under three (3) plants, being Overhauls, Gearbox repairs and Warehouse.
About the role:
The Project Manager will oversee and manage the successful execution of longwall projects. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals, coordinating resources, managing budgets, and ensuring the timely completion of longwall projects. Your expertise and leadership will be crucial in delivering high-quality projects that meet safety standards and client expectations.
The Project Manager’s key responsibilities include:
- Developing comprehensive project plans, defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to identify project requirements and establish clear objectives.
- Providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to ensure the successful implementation of longwall projects.
- Maintaining project budgets, including cost estimates, forecasts, and expenditures. Monitor
project costs throughout the project lifecycle, identify variances, and implement cost-saving measures to ensure projects remain within budget constraints.
- Overseeing the execution of longwall projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety guidelines.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks or issues, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Fostering strong relationships with stakeholders including; clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Regularly communicating project status, addressing concerns, and managing expectations to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Implementing quality control measures to ensure the delivery of high-quality installations and services.
- Conducting inspections, reviewing technical documentation, and enforcing compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Maintaining accurate project documentation, including progress reports, budgets, change documentation, and other relevant records.
- Preparing comprehensive project reports for management and clients.
- Identifying areas for process improvements and developing strategies to enhance project delivery efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Staying updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in longwall projects.

Qualifications/ Experience
- Proven experience in managing projects, preferably in the mining or construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems, longwall mining equipment, and relevant regulations.
- Any relevant qualifications are highly regarded.
