The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Food Truck Operator / Barista to join our team. This hands-on role involves preparing and serving coffee and food, operating the food truck independently, and delivering excellent customer service on the go.

You’ll be responsible for setup and pack down, maintaining food safety standards, processing orders and payments, and creating a welcoming customer experience.

This is a casual role (approx. 20–30 hours per week) with potential for additional hours. Weekend availability is required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

  • Greet customers, taking orders and processing payments
  • Autonomous working, driving to location
  • Coffee machine set up & pack down
  • Food truck preparation duties and clean up
  • Operate and maintain the equipment with the truck
  • Crafting high-quality coffee and preparing other beverages
  • Building rapport with customers by recognising their preferences to provide a personalised experience
  • Food preparation, for take-away
  • Keeping the vehicle and equipment clean and tidy
  • Complying with health and safety requirements
  • Cultivating a positive atmosphere to enhance customer experiences

Requirements:

  • Manual Drivers licence
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within the food service industry
  • Exceptional attention to detail, proactive problem-solving abilities, and strong organisational skills
  • Knowledge of and adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and take a hands-on approach
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A vibrant friendly personality
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Be available across 7 days for weekend events

Highly Desirable:

  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Barista trained
  • Experience with Square
  • Experience with food trucks
