The Roles
We are looking for a Design Management who will support our continued growth.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Timely and cost-effective delivery of all design phases in accordance with project programmes, supporting overall project objectives for time, cost, and quality
- Establishment and maintenance of strong, collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders to support efficient design development and approvals
- Effective management of design-related contractual processes, including RFIs, design variations, consultant scopes, and design change control
- Procurement and performance management of design consultants and specialist advisors to ensure quality outcomes and alignment with project requirements
- Oversight of design programme development, monitoring progress against milestones, and proactively mitigating risks to delivery
- Preparation and reporting of design status, key risks, and commercial impacts to the Construction Manager and broader project leadership team
- Promotion of a collaborative, solutions-focused
culture across the design team, consultants, and delivery personnel Leadership, mentoring, and coordination of design and engineering team members to ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and accountability
- Ensuring all design outputs comply with applicable WHS (Work Health & Safety), quality, and environmental management system requirements, with a focus on designing for safety and buildability.
- Ensure all design documentation is full coordinated, compliant and provides for cost efficient construction.
- Oversight of design inputs into project-specific plans, including quality documentation, ITPs, and constructability reviews
- Participation in performance and competency development of design and engineering personnel where required
- Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date design documentation and records to ensure contractual compliance and efficient project delivery
- Close coordination with construction teams, subcontractors, and site management to ensure design intent is clearly communicated and effectively implemented on site
- Lead and present at design workshops, HAZOPS’s and the like.
About you
You are an accomplished Design Manager. You will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in civil infrastructure which could include water and / or sewerage treatment plants, industrial buildings, or other complex infrastructure projects.
- Leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead design teams.
- Strong team focus, consultation and communication skills.
- Experience managing designers and delivering complex infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of WHS legislation compliance and a demonstrated ability to implement WHS, Quality and Environmental Control Systems.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or similar.
