Build Something Meaningful. Lead Something Exceptional.

Location: Sydney, NSW

About Harwell Home Care

Harwell Home Care is a national provider of community and home-based care services, supporting older Australians to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes. We deliver high-quality services across the Support at Home Program, DVA Community Nursing, and other community-based care services.

Driven by a commitment to quality, compassion, and continuous improvement, we are expanding our presence across Australia and investing in leaders who share our vision for exceptional community care.

About the Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to join Harwell as we establish and grow our Sydney operations.

This is not a traditional leadership role where you inherit a large team and established infrastructure. Instead, you will play a pivotal role in building our presence, relationships, reputation and service delivery capability across Sydney and the broader NSW market before transitioning into broader regional leadership responsibilities across Sydney, ACT, Darwin, Tasmania and Scheduling Services.

To support long-term success in the role, you will initially spend time embedded within frontline service delivery and clinical leadership, gaining a deep understanding of our clients, workforce, systems and service model.

Key Accountabilities:

Establishing Sydney Operations

  • Lead the establishment and growth of Harwell’s Sydney service operations from the ground up.
  • Develop strong referral pathways and strategic partnerships across Sydney and NSW.
  • Work closely with our Growth Team to expand Harwell’s presence and reputation in the market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, GPs, Support Coordinators, community organisations, aged care providers and key industry stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and service expansion across the region.

Clinical Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Provide clinical oversight, governance and hands-on nursing support where operationally required.
  • Spend the initial phase of the role working closely with clients, frontline teams and Clinical Leaders to gain a thorough understanding of service delivery operations.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care aligned with Aged Care Quality Standards, Support at Home requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor service quality, client outcomes and operational performance.
  • Support a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.

Leadership & Regional Oversight

  • Lead, mentor and support Clinical Leaders and operational teams across Sydney, ACT and Tasmania.
  • Oversee Scheduling Services and workforce planning functions.
  • Support workforce growth, capability development and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, engagement and high performance.
  • Partner with the Executive Team to deliver strategic, operational and growth objectives.

About You

You are a leader who understands that great service delivery starts with great people, strong relationships and operational excellence.

You are equally comfortable discussing clinical governance, workforce planning, service growth and operational performance. You understand that leadership is earned through visibility and involvement, and you enjoy being present with teams, clients and stakeholders while building services that can scale sustainably.

You will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within aged care, community care, home care or healthcare services.
  • Extensive experience in Home Care Packages and a strong understanding of the Support at Home Program.
  • Demonstrated experience leading geographically dispersed teams and multi-site service operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australia’s aged care reform landscape and regulatory environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop leaders and frontline teams.
  • Strong commercial and operational acumen with the ability to balance quality care outcomes with sustainable business performance.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Existing networks and market knowledge within Sydney and NSW will be highly regarded.
  • A visible, hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside teams to understand and improve service delivery.

Highly Desirable

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience delivering services under the DVA Community Nursing Program.
  • Previous experience establishing a new service region, branch or operational team.
  • Experience in workforce planning, scheduling and community care operations.
  • Strong professional networks across aged care, healthcare and community sectors.
  • Experience leading organisational growth and service expansion initiatives.

Why Join Harwell?

At Harwell, we are passionate about delivering exceptional care and creating positive outcomes for the people and communities we support.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build something from the ground up, shape the future of our Sydney operations and play a key leadership role in our continued growth across Australia.
