Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Team Lead Night Shift to lead our evening manufacturing operations and play a key role in driving productivity, quality and continuous improvement across our machining department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist ready to take the next step into leadership or an established team leader looking to join a modern and growing Australian manufacturer.
Qualifications and Experience
• Strong experience in both CNC milling and CNC turning operations.
• Proficiency in modern CNC machining practices and manufacturing processes.
• Experience programming and modifying programs using Mastercam.
• Good understanding of modern cutting tool technology, tooling strategies and machining optimisation.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring manufacturing teams is highly regarded.
• Experience with Okuma controls and machine tools is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and manage workflow across multiple machines and operators.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Current Australian working rights are essential.
• Current driver’s licence preferred.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise the night shift manufacturing team.
• Coordinate production priorities to achieve daily output targets.
• Program, set and operate CNC milling and turning machines.
• Support operators with troubleshooting, setup optimisation and process improvements.
• Manage tooling selection, tool life and machining efficiencies to maximise machine utilisation.
• Maintain quality standards through inspection and process control.
• Work closely with the Workshop Manager to ensure production schedules and customer requirements are achieved.
• Drive a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Assist with training and development of team members.
