THE ROLE – CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER / BUILDER LIAISON

This maternity leave contract runs until June 2027 and offers genuine potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. Based within our Structural & Building Materials division, the customer Service Officer You will play a key role, supporting builders, suppliers, and internal stakeholders by creating a smooth, stress-free experience by delivering accurate, timely, and professional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Success in this role requires a proactive and detail-focused person who is confident in communication, capable of problem-solving, and able to work collaboratively while managing multiple priorities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Be the first point of contact for builders and their trades
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with builders and their trades
  • Keep orders, quotes and deliveries moving smoothly
  • Coordinate delivery stages and manage timelines
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide practical solutions
  • Keep customers informed and updated
  • Work closely with Account Managers, Warehouse and Purchasing teams to ensure the best customer experience.

QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERIENCE | CAPABILITIES

  • Versatile background in customer service or similar support roles
  • Clear, confident communication and a warm, professional manner
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy (essential)
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the building or plumbing industry is advantageous, but not essential
  • A positive, ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
