We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Learning & Development Officer to join our dynamic team on a 6-months full-time fixed term contract, with potential to transition to a permanent full-time role dependent on performance.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with leaders, supervisors and frontline teams to turn strategy into capability and drive measurable performance improvement. ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Learning & Development Officer, you will be designing, delivering and embedding practical learning solutions that lift the workforce capability, support compliance, and enable operational excellence across a diverse, multi-disciplinary environment.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Collaborating with relevant managers/supervisors to identify job-specific training needs through skills gap analysis
  • Partnering with cross-functional team leaders to assess role-specific training requirements
  • Establishing role competency frameworks aligned to operational requirements, SQF/HACCP/WHS compliance, and leadership capability pathways
  • Identifying critical capability risks and workforce readiness gaps
  • Translating business strategy and S&OP requirements into capability development plans
  • Developing and coordinating training programs to address competency gaps, including onboarding, policy compliance, soft skills, and job-specific skillsets
  • Creating engaging and interactive training modules tailored to diverse learning styles
  • Designing competency assessments to enhance retention and practical application of skills.
  • Providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to trainees, trainers, and supervisors.
  • Driving and supporting SOP development and revisions with relevant teams
  • Assessing the impact and effectiveness of training programs based on stakeholder, supervisor/manager and trainee feedback
  • Updating training materials and methods in response to feedback and change initiatives.
  • Ensuring training programs remain aligned with role descriptions and competency mappings
  • Ensuring delivered training are within established budget
  • Prepare reports on training activities, outcomes, and return on investment (ROI) for senior management

ABOUT YOU

  • 2+ years experience in learning and development or a related role
  • Experience in FMCG industry (highly regarded)
  • Strong skills in designing and delivering engaging training programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting a thorough skills gap analysis and competency assessments
  • Proficiency with LMS tools that are SCORM 1.2 compliant
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating effective training sessions
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, human resources, psychology, education or learning (desirable)
  • Previous experience with Employment Hero HRIS and Go1 Learning (highly regarded)
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate training effectiveness and ROI
  • A passion for continuous learning and helping others grow
