About the Role:
Reporting to the State Manager (Northern Region), the Senior Regional Service Manager is
a new role, based out of Hamilton, Brisbane. This key leadership role and escalation point responsible for driving the overall aftersales performance, capability, and customer experience across an assigned region. This role provides both strategic direction and operational leadership, ensuring alignment to GWM’s national objectives and global standards.
Accountable for leading a team of Regional Service Managers, the role focuses on uplifting dealer network performance, improving service quality, and optimising commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Regional Service Managers (RSM’s) to deliver consistent high performance across the region.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability frameworks, conducting regular performance and development reviews.
- Coordinate/drive the CSI improvement actions for their selected dealers with the RSM of that dealership.
- Hold quarterly Service Manager meetings, supported by national staff to bring alignment, process improvement and collaboration to life.
- Foster a high-performance culture aligned to The GWM Way, balancing results with behaviours.
- Build strong, influential relationships with Dealer Principals and senior dealership stakeholders.
- Lead dealer performance reviews, business planning sessions, and regional forums.
- Coordinate the Service Standards audits of the Dealers in their Region
- Drive regional performance across key aftersales KPI’s including CSI, First-Time Fix Rate, Warranty Efficiency, and Technician Productivity.
- Provide high-level technical guidance and support across the region for complex diagnostics and repair issues.
- Ensure effective delivery of technical training programs in partnership with the national training team.
- Ensure oversight of any VORs greater than 14 days
- Drive an analysis and close-the-gap program for Fix It Right First Time performance of their Region
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in automotive service operations, including significant experience in a regional or multi-site leadership role.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong technical expertise in automotive diagnostics and repair; OEM experience highly regarded.
- Proven ability to influence and engage senior dealership stakeholders (Dealer Principals / Owners).
- Strong commercial acumen with experience driving financial and operational performance outcomes.
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced analytical capability with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
- Experience working within a matrix organisation and managing cross-functional relationships.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region
