We’re on the lookout for a warm, experienced, and passionate IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)/ Endorsed Midwife to join our growing family health team. Planned start date as able.

About You

You’re a confident, nurturing clinician with a genuine love for maternal and infant health. You bring sound clinical judgment, empathy, and a strong commitment to collaborative evidence based care.

You’ll need:

  • Current AHPRA registration as an Endorsed Midwife (preferred, RM considered with support to attain endorsement)
  • Current IBCLC certification with proof of active status and recertification compliance
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as both midwife and lactation consultant
  • Advanced knowledge of lactation, breast anatomy, and infant feeding development
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, evidence based care
  • A calm, inclusive, and supportive presence for new families
  • Personal professional indemnity insurance (PII)
  • Eligible to work in Australia with existing appropriate working rights/visa

About the Role

This is a unique dual-role where you’ll work primarily as a Lactation Consultant while also utilising your midwifery skills. You’ll support families, mothers and babies during pregnancy (antenatal feeding consultations) and postpartum with main your focus on infant feeding. You will provide high-quality care and guidance during one of the most vulnerable and rewarding times of their lives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide thorough oral assessments, lactation assessment, individualised support and guidance to mothers and families.
  • Evidence-based breastfeeding and infant feeding education.
  • Managing feeding challenges such as latch issues, low supply, oversupply, nipple trauma, mastitis, and more
  • Supporting complex cases, oral motor dysfunction, including tongue ties, induced lactation, or premature infants
  • Creating individualised care plans and liaising with GPs, paediatricians, and allied health professionals
  • Antenatal education and postnatal midwifery care.
  • Maintaining accurate and professional clinical documentation.
  • Evidence-based health care team education and training.
