Cost Accountant

Summary

Supported by a major private equity firm and the founding partner, Grove Juice is in a significant transition phase. With operations in QLD and NSW, we are seeking an ambitious Cost Accountant to help solidify all areas of costing across this vertically integrated company. The Candidate You bring deep technical cost accounting expertise, balanced with the communication skills needed to partner with operations and influence business decisions through sharp, commercial insights.

You have a background in inventory control, manufacturing accounting, BOMs, variance analysis, and standard or weighted average costing is essential. Above all, you are a hands-on professional who wants to understand the inner workings of the business and is driven by delivering tangible, practical results rather than just running reports.

The Role

Product Costing & New Product Development

• Build and maintain accurate costing models for manufactured and sourced products.
• Align costing assumptions with Supply Chain and Operations to reflect current material, freight, and production realities.
• Evaluate SKU performance and new product developments (NPD) while driving continuous system enhancements.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Monitor material usage, labour, and manufacturing variances to track operational efficiency.
• Translate margin, profitability, and cost-driver trends into actionable commercial insights.
• Highlight performance gaps and forecast variances to support leadership decision-making.

Continuous Improvement Projects

• Identify inefficiencies and champion projects to streamline reporting, systems, and internal controls.
• Own the accuracy of costing master data, product coding, and BOM structures.

Business Partnering

• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing to bridge the gap between plant performance and financial outcomes.
• Serve as the go-to subject matter expert for product costing, BOM accuracy, and inventory performance.

Requirements

• CPA, CA or CIMA qualification.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role.
• High attention to detail with strong commercial acumen.
• Strong hands-on experience working with ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
