About You!
You’re a strong project operator who is hands on, solutions focused, pragmatic, and an effective communicator.
You’ll have strong capital works and infrastructure program experience and enjoy delivering complex projects from concept to completion. You are an expert at managing stakeholders and driving strong outcomes across multiple priorities. You bring sound and balanced experience covering procurement, contracts, governance, and construction management.
About this role!
This position is designed to uplift the project management capability in establishing and embedding best-practice project management in delivering key infrastructure projects.
Reporting to our Chief Racing Officer, this is a stand-alone project management position accountable for the end-to-end delivery of GRNSW’s capital works and infrastructure program. This role is integral in the management and oversight of the NSW Government’s Greyhound Racing Capital Grants Program (CGP).
Key Responsibilities
As Head of Project Management, you will:
- Lead the full lifecycle delivery of construction and infrastructure projects across GRNSW.
- Drive planning, prioritisation and execution of capital works programs.
- Develop and implement best-practice project management frameworks and governance models.
- Manage procurement activities, contract administration, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to high-quality standards.
- Provide clear reporting and project updates to Executives, the Board and stakeholders.
- Lead stakeholder engagement with councils, government agencies, industry bodies and participants.
- Champion WHS, compliance, risk management and continuous improvement across all project activities.
- Implement systems and tools that improve project tracking, communication and delivery outcomes.
- Build strong collaborative relationships internally across Track & Infrastructure teams and the wider organisation.

About Your Skill Set!
- Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering large-scale construction and infrastructure projects,
with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project
Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-site capital works programs with significant budgets.
- Strong expertise in project scope definition, procurement strategies, construction delivery,
contract management, and commercial negotiations.
- Extensive knowledge of WHS legislation, environmental regulations, planning approvals, and
construction compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to implement and lead project governance frameworks and PMO functions.
- Highly developed financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including government and industry interface.
- Advanced communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present executive level reports and strategic briefings.
- Demonstrated leadership capability in building and managing high-performing teams.
- Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, AIPM CPPD/CPPB or equivalent) is desirable.
- Valid NSW Driver’s Licence
