ABOUT GOTCHA4LIFE

Gotcha4Life Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers inspirational, evidence-based, preventative mental fitness campaigns, programs, and services. Since 2017, Gotcha4Life has been on a mission to inspire and enable people of all ages to take action to build their mental fitness. 

We take a protective-factor-first and strengths-based approach to building mental fitness, focusing on the skills, relationships, and everyday actions that support us to navigate life’s ups and downs. Our work shifts the conversation from “what’s wrong?” to “what makes us strong?”, helping people strengthen their emotional adaptability, social connection, and help-seeking behaviour. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Head of Operations & Organisational Effectiveness is a newly created Leadership Team role, responsible for ensuring Gotcha4Life has the systems, structures and ways of working required to scale its impact effectively and sustainably.

Reporting to the CEO, this role plays a critical part in strengthening how the organisation operates, makes decisions and supports its people. You will be responsible for strengthening the systems, people practices, governance frameworks and organisational foundations that support organisational performance, sustainable growth and Gotcha4Life’s national expansion ambitions. 

This is both a strategic and hands-on role. You will combine operational expertise, sound judgement and a continuous improvement mindset to strengthen how the organisation operates, develops its people, manages risk and supports growth.

You will lead a Learning & Capability Partner and work closely with the CEO, Leadership Team and specialist external providers across HR, finance, legal, technology/cyber security to ensure Gotcha4Life remains well-positioned to scale its impact nationally.

HOW WE WORK

This role is a full-time permanent role, based in Sydney. We have a hybrid approach to work that continues to evolve as we respond to what is best for our team, and the people and communities we serve. Currently, we come together as a team at our Sydney CBD office to connect and collaborate 2 days a week and on other days, the team has the option to work remotely. Not-for-profit salary packaging options (up to $18,550 annually) are also available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Operating Model

  • Strengthen and embed Gotcha4Life’s operating model to support growth, performance and sustainability.
  • Coordinate organisational planning, reporting and operational rhythms.
  • Support clarity, accountability and effective cross-pillar collaboration across the organisation.
  • Strengthen organisational systems, processes and ways of working to improve efficiency and execution.
  • Ensure the operational foundations of the organisation continue to evolve alongside growth and national expansion.

People Systems & Capability

  • Lead and evolve Gotcha4Life’s people systems and frameworks.
  • Implement and embed a consistent performance and development approach across the organisation.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning and organisational capability.
  • Oversee learning and capability-building initiatives across the organisation.
  • Ensure people systems and capability continue to evolve alongside growth.

Governance, Risk & Organisational Foundations

  • Strengthen organisational foundations across governance, risk, policy and compliance.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of organisational policies, procedures and supporting resources.
  • Ensure systems, controls and risk management practices remain fit for purpose.
  • Coordinate specialist support across HR, finance, legal, technology, cyber security and governance where required.
  • Support organisational readiness for future growth and complexity.

Organisational Effectiveness & Decision Support

  • Strengthen organisational visibility and decision-making across the organisation.
  • Improve operational and financial visibility across teams, projects and priorities.
  • Support consistent performance monitoring and organisational accountability.
  • Strengthen communication, coordination and alignment across teams and pillars.
  • Ensure leaders have the information and insights required to make effective decisions.

We’re looking for an experienced operational leader who enjoys helping people, teams and organisations perform at their best.

You will likely bring:

  • Significant leadership experience across operations, people systems, organisational development, business management or a similar role.
  • Experience leading people systems and practices, including performance and development, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • A strong track record of improving organisational systems, processes and ways of working.
  • Experience helping organisations navigate growth, complexity and change.
  • Leadership experience, including coaching and developing team members and people leaders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build productive relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong operational and commercial acumen, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and practical execution.
  • Exceptional communication, project management and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to challenge existing ways of working.
  • A passion for mental fitness and a commitment to Gotcha4Life’s mission and values.

Gotcha4Life is a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to building a mentally fit future. We develop and deliver preventative mental fitness campaigns, workshops, programs and resources in schools, sports clubs, workplaces and communities Australia-wide. Gotcha4Life was established by media personality Gus Worland in 2017.
