About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join our Finance & Administration team. Reporting to the Chief Financial & Operating Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading the Club’s Finance function and supporting the ongoing financial success of the Gold Coast Titans.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting operations while partnering with leaders across the Club to deliver accurate reporting, robust financial controls and meaningful commercial insights.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and oversee the Finance and Accounting functions across the Club.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end financial reporting processes, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful reporting.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, partnering with General Managers across the organisation.
  • Monitor and manage the Club’s daily cash flow, creditor payments and long-term cash flow forecasting.
  • Prepare financial reports for Executive Leadership, the Board and departmental managers, including analysis of budget variances and key business insights.
  • Maintain strong financial governance through balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and management of the Chart of Accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, controls and business processes while leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the Assistant Accountant and Accounts Payable Officer, fostering a collaborative and high-performing Finance team.
  • Support the Chief Financial & Operating Officer with strategic financial projects and organisational initiatives.

This is a full-time role working Monday – Friday. Due to the nature of the business, occasional weekend work may be required throughout the NRL and NRLW seasons to support game day operations.

About You

You’re an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen and a passion for driving continuous improvement. You enjoy working both strategically and operationally, have exceptional attention to detail and are confident partnering with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.

You’ll also bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Finance Manager, Senior Accountant or similar leadership role.
  • Experience working within a professional sporting organisation will be highly regarded but is not essential.
  • Proven experience leading month-end and year-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, taxation and statutory reporting requirements, including FBT.
  • Experience preparing management reports and presenting financial information to senior leaders.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using financial management systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing team members.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
