About the Role

This is an excellent chance for a Graduate Solicitor to join our Class Action team at entry-level. Ideally, you will be a recent law graduate, about to be admitted, or recently admitted to legal practice. We appreciate you may not have a background or experience in class action; what matters most is your genuine passion and your eagerness to build a career.

Key duties and responsibilities

Provision of legal advice and matter management

  • Within the requirements of our client’s engagement;
  • Accept, comprehend and carry out promptly tasks and instructions from team members in accordance with our Work Plans;
  • Understand and follow team reporting and follow-up procedures to ensure your allocated Work Plan tasks are carried out and followed up until completion;
  • Show initiative in providing feedback on ongoing development of Work Plans and our Review procedures;
  • Participate in and contribute to conferences and meetings with plaintiffs, expert witnesses and Counsel;

Professional Development

  • Participating in relevant internal or external continuing professional programs and workshops;
  • Attending and participating in team meetings and wider firm team meetings. 

Administration and practice management

  • Maintaining electronic time sheets of all work done on an ongoing basis in real-time;
  • Ensuring electronic files are up to date and matters in files are properly saved within the system, and renamed according to our file naming protocols;
  • Monitor the payment of disbursements and manage databases of disbursements paid and outstanding.
  • Arrange and facilitate video conferences.

About you

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:

  • A completed Law degree.
  • Admission to practice as a solicitor in NSW or near Admission.
  • High motivation for a career in Class Action.
  • A positive attitude toward dealing with clients, and a motivation to engage with clients diligently and patiently.
