Team Leader – Grounds Maintenance

Location: Newcastle, NSW

Employment Type: Full-Time

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our growing maintenance team based in Newcastle. This is a hands-on leadership role that involves supervising crews while actively participating in day-to-day grounds maintenance activities across a variety of sites.

Our work spans multiple sectors, including:

  • Port of Newcastle
  • Retirement villages
  • Local council contracts
  • Commercial and industrial sites

As a mobile role, you’ll travel between sites throughout the Newcastle and surrounding regions using a company-provided vehicle.

About the Role

  • Lead and support maintenance crews across multiple contracts
  • Carry out grounds maintenance and general site upkeep
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
  • Liaise with clients and supervisors as required
  • Assist with planning daily works and allocating tasks
  • Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, vegetation management, or a similar field
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic and ability to lead by example
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Current driver’s licence

Essential Requirements

  • ChemCert AQF3
