About the Role

Gidgee Healing is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Receptionist / Administration Officer to join our team. This is a key front‑of‑house role in a busy, fast‑paced clinical environment.

You will provide high‑level reception and administrative support, ensure accurate patient and Medicare processes, and support the training and coordination of reception staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high standard of customer service at reception in a fast‑paced clinic environment
  • Coordinate appointments, patient flow, phone enquiries, and daily clinic lists
  • Ensure accurate client data entry
  • Support and train Medical Receptionists
  • Assist with general administration, records management, reporting, and coordination tasks
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with organisational policies and procedures
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement and a positive team culture

About You

You will bring:

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a busy workplace
  • Experience in medical reception and health administration
  • Confidence in patient information systems
  • The ability to guide, support, and train staff
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, including culturally appropriate communication

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate III in Medical Reception, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in a senior medical reception or similar health administration role
  • Strong computer skills, including medical records systems and MS Office
  • Satisfactory Police Check and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable

  • Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
  • Knowledge of primary health care environments
