Are you a natural leader who thrives in a dynamic environment where no two days look the same? Do you love working with people, creating memorable experiences, and leading teams to deliver exceptional outcomes? If so, this is your chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people across Australia.

Just outside Sydney and two hours from Canberra, Camp Wombaroo sits in the heart of the stunning Southern Highlands. Spanning 100 acres of lightly wooded land, camp is surrounded by open paddocks, native bushland, and that unmistakable fresh country air.

At The Great Aussie Bush Camp, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow and thrive in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. As our Centre Manager, you will play a pivotal role in bringing that mission to life.

Why You’ll Love This Role

As the heartbeat of your centre, you’ll lead a passionate team, shape unforgettable experiences for visiting schools, and ensure smooth, safe, high‑quality operations across accommodation, activities, hospitality, and more.

You’ll be the go‑to person for teachers and team members alike—building relationships, solving problems, and creating an environment where staff and guests feel supported and inspired.

This is a hands‑on, varied, people‑centric role perfect for someone who enjoys leadership, communication, coordination, and the outdoors.

What You’ll Do

As Centre Manager, you will:

  • Lead, mentor and support a diverse team across activities, maintenance, kitchen, and housekeeping.
  • Create a positive, collaborative workplace where people enjoy coming to work.
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the entire centre—ensuring safety, quality, and smooth operations.
  • Act as the key liaison for onsite teachers, providing high‑level communication and service.
  • Ensure compliance, risk management and safety standards are consistently met.
  • Manage rostering, performance, and operational planning.
  • Support financial oversight including budgets, CAPEX projects and procurement.
  • Help the centre evolve and grow as part of our broader business strategy.

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced leader or supervisor (outdoor education or camp setting ideal, but not essential)
  • A clear, confident communicator who builds trust and strong relationships
  • Organised, calm under pressure, and skilled at juggling multiple priorities
  • Passionate about safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable being present onsite during key delivery hours
  • A problem‑solver with a can‑do attitude, high integrity, and genuine passion for supporting young people

Our Commitment to Child Safety

We believe that all young people have the right to grow and learn in an environment which is caring and nurturing. In line with this commitment, all staff must hold and maintain a current Working with Children Check (WWC) as a condition of employment with GABC.
