Lead the energy. Shape the experience. Make a real impact outdoors.
If you’re a natural leader who loves being on the ground with your team, solving challenges in real time and creating memorable moments for young people, we want to hear from you.
Just 40 minutes from Brisbane and an hour from the Gold Coast, Kindilan is set across 220 acres of beautiful bushland in Redland Bay. Zoned as a Conservation Area in South East Queensland, camp feels like a true escape into nature, with wide open spaces, native bush and wildlife all around.
As our Assistant Centre Manager, you’ll support the leadership and day‑to‑day operations of the centre, helping bring engaging, safe and high‑quality outdoor education experiences to life.
About the role
Working closely with the Centre Manager, you’ll be right at the heart of the action — leading activity instructors, supporting operational teams and making sure every guest experience runs smoothly from arrival to departure.
You’ll be a visible, energetic presence around the centre, mentoring staff, engaging with visiting teachers and stepping in to solve challenges as they arise. No two days look the same, and that’s exactly why this role is so rewarding.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading, mentoring and developing Activity Instructors
- Supporting training, performance and staff progression
- Helping deliver safe, fun and engaging programs
- Being a key contact for teachers and group leaders onsite
- Supporting daily operations including kitchen, cleaning and maintenance teams
- Assisting with rostering, resourcing, safety and compliance
- Jumping in to solve problems, support staff and keep everything moving
What we’re looking for
You’ll shine in this role if you:
- Have experience leading or supervising teams (outdoor education or camps is a big plus)
- Are organised, proactive and calm under pressure
- Love working with people and building positive team culture
- Bring strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- Are passionate about safety, quality and great guest experiences
Requirements
- Full working rights in Australia
- Current (or willingness to obtain) Working With Children Check
- First Aid & Bronze Medallion (or willingness to gain)
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including peak periods

If you’re ready to lead from the front, support an amazing team and help create life‑changing outdoor experiences — we’d love to hear from you.
