Your Role

The Event Lead is responsible for planning and delivering a wide range of Football West events, including football matches, tournaments, community programs, corporate hospitality functions, and special events at the Sam Kerr Football Centre. Working closely with the Media & Marketing, Partnerships, and SKFC teams, the role focuses on creating exceptional event and match day experiences that enhance engagement for participants, spectators, sponsors, and stakeholders, while supporting Football West’s strategic objectives.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Plan and deliver Football West events including tournaments, community programs, corporate functions, and special events within approved budgets.
  • Coordinate event logistics including venues, equipment, catering, transport, accommodation, setup, and pack down.
  • Develop event schedules, run sheets, andoperational plans to support smooth event delivery.
  • Liaise with internal teams, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and stakeholders to ensure successful execution of events.
  • Manage event administration including budgets, records, contracts, risk assessments, and post-event reporting.
  • Support event promotion and community engagement in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team.
  • Ensure all events meet Football West safety, operational, and brand standards.
  • Assist with volunteer coordination, including recruitment, training, and event support.

 

About You

You are a highly organised and proactive events professional with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. With excellent attention to detail and a customer-focused approach, you can manage multiple projects effectively while delivering high-quality events and experiences. In, addition, you will also possess the following;

 

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, event management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in event coordination, activations, or event management.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Ability to problem solve, adapt quickly, and work effectively under pressure.
  • High attention to detail with strong time management capabilities.
  • Experience working within sporting, community, or membership-based environments is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with event management systems is advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for football or sports management is highly regarded.
  • Commitment to teamwork, continuous improvement, and workplace safety.

  • Current WA Drivers license
  • Valid Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required.
  • Ability to travel to various event locations across Western Australia.
