Description

At Focus Care, we’re passionate about helping people live their best life possible.

We’re looking for a capable and detail-driven Accounts Assistant who enjoys variety and wants to build their career in a true all-round finance role. This is an opportunity to work across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, reconciliations, and month-end support, while partnering closely with the broader business in a supportive and growing environment. Z

About the Role

This role will work closely with the Senior Bookkeeper and support the smooth running of day‑to‑day financial operations while contributing to accurate, timely, and compliant financial outcomes.

You will be involved across the full finance lifecycle – from processing transactions through to supporting reporting and reconciliations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Processing accounts payable including supplier invoices, coding, checking, and statement reconciliations.
  • Supporting accounts receivable including client invoicing, billing accuracy, service data checks, and responding to invoice queries.
  • Assisting with payroll preparation, including timesheets, allowances, variations, and initial accuracy checks.
  • Supporting month-end activities including reconciliations, data integrity checks, and preparation for reporting and audit requirements
  • Managing incoming financial correspondence, maintaining organised records, and escalating more complex matters appropriately.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial processing and a positive service experience.

About you

You’re a proactive and organised finance professional who enjoys working across multiple areas and takes pride in getting the detail right. You’re comfortable managing priorities, communicating with a range of stakeholders, and supporting a busy finance function.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

  • Certificate IV in accounting/bookkeeping or bachelor’s degree (working towards)
  • Two years’ relevant accounting/bookkeeping experience across accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up.
  • Confidence working across systems, processes, and financial administration tasks.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in the community care, aged care or NDIS sector will be highly regarded.

If you’re looking to grow your career in a well‑rounded finance role where your contribution truly matters, we’d love to hear from you.
