What you will be doing & delivering
- Assist with spray planning, set-up, and application to manage pests and disease across allocated growing areas.
- Ensure correct and safe application of agro-chemicals in line with IPM SOPs and policies.
- Manage scouting and preventative treatment programs, providing treatment recommendations for allocated sheds.
- Compile the weekly Spray Program based on IPM Reports as required.
- Support and guide Scouting Technicians and other team members with their daily work orders.
- Manage beneficial insect releases and weekly distribution across the site.
- Maintain and calibrate spray equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and respond to disease outbreaks, escalating and managing as needed.
- Support trials of new IPM techniques and products.
- Assist in leading and coaching team members, participating and leading training and coaching across multiple suites as required, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of IPM processes and help maintain IPM and chemical handling SOPs.
- Support administrative tasks including SDS folder maintenance, chemical risk assessments, and weekly KPI reporting.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or a related field
- Chemical Users Certificate or ACUP
- Proven experience in scouting operations within a horticultural or agricultural setting
- Hands-on experience with crop protection equipment and hazardous substances
- Strong pest and disease identification skills, underpinned by sound knowledge of Integrated Pest Management principles
- A highly motivated, safety-conscious approach with a keen eye for detail
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct others, follow instructions, and thrive as part of a team
