Our team acts as an extension of our clients’ brands, providing valuable insights, maintaining strong store presence, and ensuring consistency across all locations. We pride ourselves on building strong, collaborative partnerships with Bunnings and the independent stores we service. By working closely with store teams, we create mutually beneficial outcomes—enhancing the customer experience, supporting store operations, and delivering measurable results for our clients.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Merchandiser & Field Trainer to join our team. This role is ideal for an accomplished merchandiser who is passionate about retail execution, enjoys coaching others, and takes pride in helping team members succeed.

In addition to managing your own merchandising responsibilities, you will play a key role in developing and supporting our merchandising team across Western Australia. You will be responsible for onboarding new team members, delivering practical in-field training, providing ongoing coaching and support, and helping maintain high execution standards across all client accounts.

This position requires occasional travel throughout WA to support new store start-ups, conduct onboarding training, complete call-cycle demonstrations, and provide hands-on mentoring to newly appointed merchandisers.

Take control of your workday with flexible scheduling between 6:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. Enjoy work-life balance without weekend or public holiday commitments while building a rewarding career with a growing organisation.

Store Locations:

  • Bunnings Bibra Lake – 16 hours per month
  • Bunnings Melville – 18 hours per month

  • Local Independent Hardware outlets, Reece, Total Tools and associated retail partners
  • Ad Hoc Client Projects

Key Responsibilities

Merchandising Excellence:

  • Maintain shelves and bays through scanning products, replenishing stock, maintaining tickets and labels, and rotating stock using FIFO principles.
  • Execute merchandising standards to maximise product visibility, availability, and sales performance.
  • Implement planograms accurately and ensure compliance with client expectations.
  • Build and maintain promotional displays, ensuring visual appeal, stock support, and execution excellence.
  • Support range reviews, display updates, bay refits, and larger store transformation projects.

Training & Team Development:

  • Deliver onboarding and induction training for new merchandising team members.
  • Conduct in-store training and call-cycle demonstrations to ensure new staff understand merchandising standards, reporting requirements, and client expectations.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development support to merchandisers across Western Australia.
  • Assist team members in developing merchandising skills, product knowledge, retailer engagement techniques, and reporting accuracy.
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities and provide constructive guidance to support individual growth and success.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and first point of contact for merchandising best practices within the region.

Field Leadership & Operational Support:

  • Travel on an ad hoc basis throughout WA to support new store start-ups and onboarding activities.
  • Assist with the implementation of new client programs, projects, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Support Area Managers and Operations teams with training requirements and field-based quality assurance activities.
  • Monitor merchandising standards across assigned stores and provide feedback to ensure consistency and compliance.

Electronic Reporting:

  • Complete accurate electronic reporting for all store visits and project activity.
  • Provide real-time updates, insights, and observations that support client objectives and operational decision-making.

Stock Management:

  • Monitor stock levels and manage backstock effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with store teams to ensure strong product availability and execution outcomes.

Retailer Support & Product Awareness

  • Gather feedback through store observations and surveys.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product presentation, promotional compliance, and sales performance.
  • Provide valuable insights to clients and internal stakeholders.

Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with store managers, department leaders, and retail staff.
  • Represent client brands professionally and act as a trusted partner within each store environment.

Time Management

  • Effectively manage workloads across multiple stores, projects, training activities, and travel commitments.
  • Prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
