About the Role
The Student Services Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality student administration and support services across the student lifecycle. Reporting to the Registrar, this role oversees student records, enrolment administration, regulatory reporting, student events, compliance
activities, and student progression processes, while providing leadership and development to the Student Services team. The position plays a critical role in ensuring an outstanding student experience, maintaining data integrity, supporting regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in student administration practices.
Primary responsibilities include:
- To assist the Registrar in all aspects of the student services and student administration of Excelsia University College.
- To support delegated reporting requirements to the government and other internal and external bodies as required.
- To manage the Student Services team.
- To provide process, training, management, and administrative guidance and support to the Student Services team.
- To streamline student data and ensure data integrity as well as to arrange and submit student data to peak bodies to facilitate regulatory compliance.
- To manage administration of student participation and attainment, including:
– Student onboarding (post—Admissions team)
– Credit and RPL
– Orientation and progression
– Moderation, qualifications and certification
– Student grievances and complaints
– Integrity and security of student records.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications and Professional Standing:
- Possession of a degree level qualification (or an equivalent combination of relevant experience/training).
Essential:
- Committed Christian involved in a local congregation.
- Previous work experience (3+ years) working in a student administration role or equivalent..
- Experience in a management or team leader position.
- Previous work experience in a higher education environment is highly desirable.
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Technological literacy in a wide range of desktop applications and major database systems to support record keeping, reporting and analysis role requirements.
- Sound understanding of the issues and challenges faced by students, and ability to support students while maintaining equity and compliance.
- Ability to provide strategic direction to ensure the smooth running and continuous evaluation and improvement of student administration.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and confidence in presentations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong data analysis skills to manage data and produce accurate reports.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills enabling effective liaison with a wide range of people.
- Demonstrated ability coordinate events and programs linked to good outcomes and high engagement.
- An understanding of current and emerging trends in higher education, student wellbeing, and student administration.
