About the Role
The role of the Quality Manager is to work with and support the Director of Quality & Risk with:
- Satisfying regulatory requirements relevant to the provision of education under the Higher Education Act 2001, the Higher Education Support Act 2003, the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000, and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students (2018).
- Providing leadership and guidance in developing and implementing institutional quality assurance and continuous improvement practices, particularly in relation to monitoring, review and improvement per the Higher Education Standards Framework.
- Managing the Document Management System in relation to governance, registration, accreditation, and transition to university status, as required under legislation.
- Facilitating and contributing to quality assurance in internal and external audits, benchmarking, and quality processes for continuous improvement and reporting purposes.
Primary responsibilities include:
- To manage the Document Management System (DMS) in relation to governance, registration,
accreditation, and transition to university status, as required under legislation.
- To facilitate and contribute to quality assurance in internal and external audits, benchmarking, and quality processes for continuous improvement and reporting purposes.
- To influence and shape organisational decision making that upholds quality assurance.
- To represent the quality Department, providing accurate information to relevant stakeholders as required.
- To review, monitor, and train staff on the quality assurance requirements of external representation and marketing materials.
- To review, monitor, and train staff on the quality assurance requirements of their role responsibilities.
- To support the implementation, measuring and reporting of institutional compliance and
quality assurance and Self-Assurance Model (SAM).
Selection Criteria
Qualifications and Professional Standing:
- Committed Christian involved in a local congregation.
- Possession of a relevant degree level qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience/ training.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) working in a Quality Assurance role or equivalent.
- Experience in a higher education setting (or equivalent) would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with the legislative framework of Australian higher education, and confidence
in communicating with the staff of regulatory authorities.
- A good understanding of quality assurance systems, and the ability to provide leadership in the maintenance and documentation of standards and systems.
- Advanced computer skills including a strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe, and technological literacy with proficiency in database management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and data sets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to continuing professional development.
- Excellent skills in written communication, and demonstrated experience in reviewing and writing reports, submissions and policy documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability in proofreading, fact checking and quality assurance.
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
