Who we’re looking for
This role is for an experienced practitioner who wants to apply their experience and new thinking to provide risk based solutions to client’s people problems.
This role, in conjunction with the Partner, will take a lead role in promoting and growing the Employee/Industrial Relations services of Exant HR.
You will be involved in delivering and mentoring and delegating work to other consultants to deliver:
- Legal research and report writing
- Drafting of employment agreements, independent contractor agreements and other legal documents
- Enterprise bargaining and negotiation
- Performance and people management advice
- Discipline and dismissal advice
- Case preparation (e.g. unfair dismissal, general protections, dispute)
- Advocacy (mentoring available if you don’t have experience in advocacy)
- Workplace investigations
This role suits someone who:
- Has a degree in law, although a degree in industrial relations or other relevant discipline will be considered.
- Has 3 plus years previous experience working in employment law or industrial relations.
- Has experience working in a collaborative team environment with other professional staff on projects and providing mentorship and coaching.
- Would prefer to apply their knowledge of the law to assist organisations make decisions, manage risk, and resolve high-stakes workplace issues.
- Enjoys building relationships with clients and is able to communicate clearly with people across a broad spectrum of backgrounds.
- Wants exposure to a variety of work and industries
