Essantis is seeking an experienced Production Coordinator – Animal Nutrition to be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and activities in the Bulk Shed at the Essantis Smeaton site. The Bulk Shed is where the batching of stockfeed orders takes place – prior to the feed milling and pelletisation processes.
This position operates on day shift, Monday to Friday 38 hour work week.

Key responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Production Coordinator – Animal Nutrition are:
Operations
- Manage the day-to-day operations and activities in the Bulk Shed;
- Manage all aspects of processing, handling, logistics, quality control, maintenance and site hygiene of the Bulk Shed to ensure compliance with DAFF regulations
- Receive and action the production schedule in conjunction with Mill Production Manager;
- Manage diet formulations in the Skiold batching system;
- Batching all stockfeed orders;
- Skiold batching shed hygiene;
- Monitor bulk shed batching performance for production and quality standards;
- Manage Quality Control Systems in Bulkshed;
- Assist QA and milling staff in producing high quality livestock feeds;
- Manage Safety Processes in Bulkshed;
- Daily & Monthly stocktake;
Supervision and Leadership
- Managing day to day bulkshed operations. (Operations, Equipment, People Management);
- Manage the Warehouse Packing and Yard Operators assigned to the Bulkshed with a focus on making ongoing operational improvements, continuous staff management and engagement;
- Manage labour requirements of the Bulk Shed in conjunction with the Yard Manager, General
Manager Operations (VIC) and People and Culture Manager;
- General staff management, including – roster management, leave management, performance
management and development and general issue resolution;
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain effective working relationships and streamlined ways of working with the Smeaton Weighbridge, who are responsible for – managing customer stockfeed orders, scheduling of stockfeed production, inventory management for all raw materials and additives, issuing the daily production scheduled and liaising with freight companies to establish daily,
scheduled pick up and deliveries.
- Maintain effective working relationship and streamlined ways of working with the Smeaton Production Manager and Production Coordinator, who are responsible for – Feed Milling & Pellet Press production, and loading silo’s with finished animal nutrition product.
- Communicate honest, authentic, timely, accurate and consistent communication to all internal and external stakeholders;
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values respect, collaboration and
continuous improvement;
- Implement initiatives to continually improve employee wellbeing and address concerns
promptly and constructively;
- Manage productive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
Health Safety and Environment
- Promote a culture of safety through training, communication and leadership and drive continuous improvement
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments in the Bulk Shed operations
- Take reasonable care for your own and others’ Health and Safety;
- Assist in ensuring all workplace hazards, near misses and incidents are reported, assessed and appropriate control measures implemented.
- Ensure accurate OH&S records are maintained and report to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.

Essential:
Experience and qualifications
- Experience working in a team leader, supervisor or management position
within a manufacturing or logistics environments;
- Stockfeed industry (or similar) experience;
- Demonstrated experience managing people and promoting an effective team
environment;
- Problem solving skills and solutions focused;
- Experience working in a culturally diverse environment;
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and ERP systems;
- A current driver’s licence

- Ability to perform the inherent physical requirements of the role, such
as working in confined spaces, at heights, and in dusty environments.
- A current driver’s licence

- Forklift licence
- JCB / Telehandler licence
- EWP licence
- Working at Heights licence

- First aid qualification
