As Energy Bay’s Finance Accountant, you will be reporting to the Financial Controller – Group & Corporate and will play a pivotal role delivering accurate and timely group financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and treasury accounting across a diverse portfolio of corporate and asset-holding entities.
This key position contributes significantly to the monthly close process, including oversight of outsourced accounting providers, and is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data through reconciliations, journal entries, and invoicing activities across the business.

As our Finance Accountant you will:

Financial Reporting & Month- End Close: monthly close activities across group entities, including journals (accruals, prepayments, capitalised costs, adjustments), intercompany transactions, and invoicing, while supporting outsourced providers.
- Ensured integrity of financials through balance sheet and bank reconciliations, oversight of debtors (provisioning and write-offs), and management of lease accounting (IFRS 16) for asset entities.

Treasury & Financing: Managed monthly accounting for debt and financing instruments, including external debt, intercompany loans, deferred consideration, and interest rate swaps, with accurate recording of derivative mark-to-market movements.
- Monitored and tracked debt activity, including drawdowns, repayments, and overall sources and uses of funds to maintain clear financial oversight.

Cash Flow & Liquidity Management: Monitored and maintained accurate cash flow reporting by entity and consolidated level, ensuring daily movements were reflected in forecasts and clearly distinguishing between operating and capital cash flows.

Intercompany & Cost Allocations: Managed intercompany accounting, including balance analysis and eliminations across AP/AR, recharging shared costs per approved methodologies, and resolving variances and anomalies.

Governance & Oversight: Oversaw outsourced provider performance and ensured compliance with statutory reporting requirements (IAS, BAS, AFSL), while maintaining audit-ready documentation to support financial integrity.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and enhance internal controls.

Safety: Complied with health, safety, and environmental obligations by following company procedures, reporting hazards and incidents, and supporting ISO-certified systems while ensuring personal and team safety.
To be successful in the role if you possess:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in group accounting and financial reporting, with strong exposure to month-end close processes and multi-entity or asset-intensive environments (energy, renewables, or construction experience preferred).
- Demonstrated technical accounting expertise, including treasury and derivatives, supported by strong analytical capability and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively, coupled with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, a sharp analytical mindset, and a proactive solutions-oriented approach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across
finance and operational teams.
- Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience in energy industry (desirable).
