Here’s what you can expect in your new role with EMM:
- You’ll provide technical support on environmental assessment and environmental management projects across Australia, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
- You’ll provide geochemical analysis and advice on operational mining and closure management challenges, working with our experienced mining hydrogeology team members.
- Whilst your experience will mean you’re comfortable working autonomously, you’ll also be able to rely on the wider Groundwater team.
- There will be opportunity to showcase your project management skills, managing project budgets, tracking, schedules and outputs, outcome evaluation and liaison with clients, subcontractors and government departments, delivering high quality outcomes.
- You’ll be a mentor to junior team members, ensuring continued growth and technical excellence in our Groundwater team.
Here’s what you’ll bring to have impact:
- Post-secondary (B.Sc. or higher) degree in chemistry, geology or environmental/earth science, with a background in geochemistry, hydrogeochemistry, analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, mining engineering or similar.
- Proven level of technical expertise within geochemistry / hydrogeochemistry and have a working understanding of regulatory requirements in Australia.
- Experience in geochemical and water quality modelling, including being proficient in the use of industry software such as GoldSim, PHREEQC and Geochem Workbench.
- Software coding experience (such as Python and R-Studio) for data analytics, modelling support and to process model outputs
- A valid Australian Driver’s License and excellent driving history (4WD experience is an advantage).
- Experience within the Western Australian mining industry.
- Understanding of relevant WA legislation.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills – ability to write and present technical and factual reports.
- Ability to manage own time and priorities and work collaboratively in a team to meet project objectives in a deadline driven work environment.
