About El Jannah
Since 1998, El Jannah has been serving up legendary charcoal chicken with heart. More than two decades on, our bold flavours, generous portions and energetic restaurants continue to create memorable experiences that guests love across Australia. Our network is growing fast across Australia, and our people are the heart of everything we do. The L&D team plays a central role in making sure every team member and leader has the skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver the El Jannah experience every single day.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who genuinely loves being out in restaurants, building relationships, and helping people grow. As an L&D Specialist, you’ll play a key role in building the leadership capability, soft skills, and learning culture across the El Jannah network. You’ll be a trusted partner to Restaurant Managers and Franchise Partners, delivering practical, engaging learning experiences that strengthen leadership behaviours, build confidence, and lift capability across our restaurants.
This is a hybrid role, split 50/50 between our El Jannah Training Centre and out in the field. At the Training Centre, you’ll facilitate leadership and development workshops, coordinate the L&D calendar, manage training logistics, support the delivery of the El Jannah Career Pathway, and deliver virtual learning sessions that reach leaders across every state.
Out in the field, you’ll travel regularly across our growing national network, running roadshows, supporting Welcome Nights for new restaurant openings, and partnering with Restaurant Managers to identify and address leadership, communication, and people capability gaps. Working closely with the Training Manager, who focuses on operational performance and in-restaurant training execution, you’ll own the people side of capability development—leadership behaviours, soft skills, coaching conversations, virtual learning, and creating engaging learning experiences that help our leaders and teams perform at their best.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Facilitating leadership development workshops, soft skills programs, and guest experience sessions at the El Jannah Training Centre
- Delivering live virtual learning sessions, webinars, and capability programs that reach leaders and teams across all states
- Hosting Welcome Nights for new restaurant openings and onboarding new teams into the El Jannah culture
- Planning and executing L&D roadshows across our restaurant network
- Coaching Restaurant Managers to build their confidence and capability as leaders and trainers
- Leading train-the-trainer sessions to build internal training capability across the network
- Conducting capability check-ins and building tailored soft skills development plans where leadership or behavioural gaps are identified
- Analysing performance data, including mystery shopper results and LMS completion rates, to identify restaurants needing targeted support
- Coordinating all workshop logistics including venue set-up, catering, materials, registrations, and participant communications
- Managing the L&D calendar, tracking attendance and completions through the LMS, and reporting regularly to the Head of L&D
What We’re Looking For
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in L&D, facilitation, training coordination, or a related people development role
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) or equivalent
- Background in hospitality, QSR, or retail environments
- Proven facilitation skills, confident, energetic, and adaptable in front of any group, face-to-face and virtually
- Experience coordinating learning events including logistics, registrations, catering, and participant communications
- Experience delivering leadership development programs and guest experience workshops
- Comfortable with virtual facilitation platforms, particularly MS Teams
- A strong relationship builder who earns trust quickly with operational leaders
- Coaching ability with the knack for giving feedback that genuinely lands
- Business acumen, you connect learning to operational outcomes, not just learning outcomes
- Organised, self-driven, and comfortable managing your own travel schedule
- Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel interstate as required
- A qualification in L&D or HR is desirable but not essential
