What’s on offer:
Eight Homes is on the lookout for a proactive, detail – oriented OHS Advisor to help champion our safety-first culture. Based at our Essendon Fields office, this role includes regular site visits across
metropolitan Melbourne and plays a vital part in strengthening our safety systems, supporting our construction, sales and office teams, and staying ahead of legislative updates.
Within this role your responsibilities would include:
- Conduct routine site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and legislation
- Assist with regulatory requests, including those from WorkSafe and other governing bodies
- Keep safety documentation, registers, and incident records accurate and up to date
- Collaborate closely with our Construction team to promote a strong safety culture
- Champion a strong understanding of the OH&S Act and Regulations, keeping our practices compliant and forward-thinking.
- Identify training needs and oversee annual OH&S programs that empower teams to work safely and confidently.
- Be the go-to advisor for managers and employees, offering timely, practical guidance on all OH&S matters.
- Take charge of incident investigations, ensuring timely follow-up actions and continuous improvement.
- Support injured employees through their return-to-work journey, working closely with managers, insurers, and medical providers to ensure a smooth transition.
Who are we looking for:
- Proven experience in a safety-focused role, ideally within construction or another high-risk industry
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage a wide range of stakeholders on health and safety matters while building strong rapport across teams.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities independently
- Willingness to travel to various site locations across the metropolitan area
- Demonstrated success in driving a strong culture of safety including OH&S induction and training experience
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of OH&S legislation and supporting regulations and codes and skills and experience in its practical application
- Comprehensive understanding of Workers Compensation and Injury Management regulations.
Required:
- Valid Victorian Driver’s License
- Certificate IV or higher qualification in OHS and Building & Construction
- Current First Aid qualification including CPR
- Police Check
