We have an exciting opportunity for an Academic Manager (Business) to be part of our team at our University of Tasmania (UTAS) Study Centre located in Ultimo (Sydney).
At our Ultimo Study Centre, ECA delivers a suite of UTAS business and ICT courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The business courses are offered by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics (TSBE) which holds AACSB accreditation. Current programs offered at Ultimo include an MBA (Marketing specialisation) and a Master of Health Services Management.
The Academic Manager (Business) is responsible all operational aspects of the academic delivery and quality assurance of the business courses offered at the Ultimo Study Centre. They will play a critical role in delivering a high-quality and engaging student experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the delivery of all business courses at the Ultimo Study Centre meets or exceeds the requirements and standards of UTAS
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all stakeholders to ensure that academic delivery requirements are resourced and met
- Advise the Academic Director on the continuous improvement of delivery, student experience and campus operations
- Teach one or more subjects in the suite of business courses offered in Sydney
- Conduct student consultation and academic counselling for students who require additional support
- Implement early intervention strategies in collaboration with Learning Support Cooridnators for students-at-risk and monitor their progress according to UTAS’ Policies and Procedures
- Maintain currency in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and that of the incumbent’s discipline by undertaking scholarly work and professional development
As the successful candidate, you will ideally have:
- A PhD in a relevant discipline
- 3+ years’ experience in higher education teaching
- Experience in course coordination/management from both strategic and operational perspectives
- Demonstrated track record in supporting the success of international students
- Knowledge of the Higher Education Standards Framework and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students
- Superior stakeholder management and student engagement skills
- Desirable:
- Graduate Certificate or above in learning and teaching or tertiary education
- Experience in higher education quality assurance
- Experience with third-party course delivery
- Experience in working with geographically dispersed teams
