Help people turn employment goals into real jobs
At Edge we believe employment changes lives.
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Employment Support Coach to support people with disability to build confidence, develop workplace skills and achieve meaningful employment outcomes.
This is an opportunity to work one-on-one with participants, build strong relationships with employers, and help people achieve greater independence through meaningful employment.
If you are passionate about inclusive employment and enjoy helping people achieve goals they once thought were out of reach, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
This is a role for someone who believes employment can change lives.
You will support a small caseload of NDIS participants to identify their goals, build confidence, develop workplace skills and move towards meaningful employment.
This is a community-based role involving regular travel throughout the Perth metropolitan area. You will work alongside participants in their homes, community settings and workplaces, supporting them to build confidence, develop workplace skills and achieve their employment goals.
Success in this role comes from building strong relationships and working collaboratively with families, Support Coordinators, allied health professionals and employers, helping to create opportunities, overcome barriers and support participants to achieve the employment outcomes that matter to them.
Combining coaching, capacity building, employer engagement and workplace support, this is an opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference in people’s lives.
About You
You believe that employment can be life-changing and are passionate about helping people achieve goals that matter to them.
You are naturally encouraging, positive and resilient. You know how to build trust, recognise potential and help people work through challenges without losing sight of what they are capable of achieving.
You are equally comfortable supporting a participant one-on-one, meeting with an employer to discuss opportunities, or collaborating with families and other professionals to achieve the best outcome.
Most importantly, you are someone who sees the person, not the disability, and is committed to helping people build confidence, independence and meaningful futures.
You will bring:
- Experience supporting people with disability, job seekers or individuals facing barriers to employment.
- Strong coaching, mentoring or employment support skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Confidence working autonomously and managing competing priorities.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Strong administration and documentation skills.
Qualifications and Requirements:
This role is best suited to someone with demonstrated experience supporting people with disability, job seekers or others facing barriers to achieving their employment goals.
Applicants with a relevant Certificate III, Certificate IV, diploma or degree, together with substantial experience in disability services, employment services, community services, youth work, vocational education, or career development will be highly regarded, as will:
- Experience working within the NDIS environment.
- Experience supporting people with disability to achieve employment outcomes.
- Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability.
- Experience building relationships with employers and community stakeholders.
You will also require:
- A NDIS Worker Screening Check, or the ability to obtain one.
- A current National Police Clearance (issued within the last six months).
- A current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one.
- A current WA Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle, as regular travel throughout the Perth metropolitan area is required.
