Assistant Venue Manager – The Birkenhead Tavern

The Role

Do you love getting hands-on and thriving across all areas of hospitality? We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Venue Manager to join the team at The Birkenhead Tavern.

Working closely with the Venue Manager, you will be across all aspects of the business including the bar, bistro, gaming, functions and day-to-day venue operations.

Key tasks include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and motivating the team to create memorable guest experiences;
  • Assisting with recruitment, induction, training, product education and rostering;
  • Driving events and functions throughout the year;
  • Creating a supportive and encouraging team environment;
  • Leading by example across all departments;
  • Stock control, stocktake and administrative tasks as required; and
  • Thriving in a fast-paced, community-focused venue.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Management experience in a similar hospitality role;
  • The ability to stay calm and manage time during busy periods;
  • Experience multitasking across multiple departments;
  • Strong decision-making skills around staffing, operations and business needs;
  • RSA, Gaming and RP badge, essential;
  • Great presentation, attention to detail and strong organisational skills; and
  • Flexibility to work across 7 days on a rotating roster.
