Summary:

As a Principal Consultant in Privacy, Data and AI Governance, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our clients through the complexities of data protection and governance in an increasingly digital landscape. Based in Perth, Western Australia, you will leverage your extensive experience to develop and implement strategies that ensure compliance with privacy regulations while optimising the use of data and AI technologies. This permanent, full-time position is essential for our consultancy’s commitment to delivering high-quality advisory services in the field of data governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of privacy and data governance frameworks for clients across various industries.
  • Advise clients on compliance with local and international data protection regulations, including the Australian Privacy Principles.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities in clients’ data management practices.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the ethical use of AI technologies and data analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of data governance initiatives with business objectives.
  • Deliver training and workshops to enhance clients’ understanding of privacy and data governance best practices.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and regulatory changes in privacy, data protection, and AI governance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in privacy, data governance, or related consultancy roles, with at least 5 years in a director-level position.
  • Strong understanding of Australian and international data protection laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks and strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Certifications in data protection or privacy (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) are highly desirable.
