Sales Team Leader, Victoria

We are seeking a driven and capable Sales Team Leader to lead our Victorian sales team, support growth across key customer segments, and help drive a consistent, high-performing sales approach across the business.
About the Role
Reporting to the National Head of Sales, the Sales Team Leader, Victoria is responsible for leading the Victorian sales team to achieve sales targets, secure quality projects, grow customer relationships, and support the delivery of a strong customer experience.
This role will work closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, and Product Development teams to ensure Criterion continues to deliver strong commercial outcomes while maintaining service standards and product confidence across the market.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
• Lead the Victorian sales team in a positive, structured, and performance-focused manner
• Support the team to achieve sales targets, activity targets, and customer service expectations
• Maintain a regular rhythm of team meetings, one-on-ones, and performance conversations
• Promote a strong safety culture when attending sites, visiting customers, and representing the business externally
Sales Strategy and Growth
• Support the development and execution of sales plans to achieve branch and state sales objectives
• Work with the team to improve conversion rates, project value, product mix, and gross margin outcomes
• Analyse the sales pipeline to identify trends, replicate success, and learn from lost opportunities
• Support the successful release and sale of new products in partnership with Marketing and Product Development teams
Business Development and Pipeline Management
• Drive sales outcomes through disciplined pipeline management and consistent sales activity
• Manage the quality, accuracy, and volume of leads within the Victorian sales pipeline
• Coordinate and support targeted business development activity, including major project and key customer opportunities
• Identify growth opportunities across new and existing customer accounts
• Support the team to secure commercially valuable projects aligned with Criterion’s broader sales objectives
Customer Account Management
• Lead and support Customer Account Managers to achieve sales and service outcomes
• Build strong relationships with key customers and industry contacts
• Support growth across all relevant product categories to improve sales results and gross margin
• Drive sales growth in commercial door packages and other targeted product areas
• Ensure customers receive a high level of responsiveness, professionalism, and product knowledge
Best Practice and Process Improvement
• Support the use of national sales frameworks, systems, and reporting standards
• Train, coach, and guide team members to improve confidence, consistency, and sales effectiveness
• Work with national support roles to roll out process improvements, product training, and sales tools
• Contribute to a consistent national approach to sales performance, customer management, and product education
About You
You are an experienced sales leader with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to guide a team toward clear sales outcomes. You are confident working with customers, developing sales activity, and building a positive team culture based on accountability, communication, and performance.
You will bring:
• Proven experience in sales leadership, account management, business development, or a similar role
• Experience leading, coaching, or supporting sales teams
• Strong customer relationship skills and a practical understanding of project-based selling
• Ability to manage sales pipelines, activity targets, and conversion outcomes
• Commercial awareness, including an understanding of margin, product mix, and sales performance • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, and Product Development
• Confidence conducting customer visits, site visits, and market-facing activity
• A positive leadership style with the ability to motivate others and maintain accountability
• Experience in manufacturing, construction products, building materials, aluminium systems, or a related industry will be highly regarded
