Love live sport? Thrive behind the scenes? Want to help create unforgettable experiences for thousands of fans?
We’re looking for an Events Coordinator to join the Melbourne Stars for the upcoming Big Bash season. This is a seasonal fixed-term opportunity, expected to commence in September 2026 and run through to February 2027.
You’ll play a key role in bringing Stars match days and events to life, supporting everything from fan experiences and commercial activations to community events and match-day operations. Working closely with internal teams, venues, suppliers and Cricket Australia, you’ll help deliver memorable experiences for our members, fans and partners.
About the role
No two days are the same. One day you might be coordinating volunteers, preparing run sheets and briefing suppliers, and the next you’ll be managing fan activations, supporting commercial partners or helping deliver a packed match day.
You’ll help deliver end-to-end event operations, coordinate community and commercial activities, support match-day presentation and work with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure every event runs smoothly.
About you
You’ll be someone who enjoys being where the action is. You’re organised, proactive and calm under pressure, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
You’ll also bring:
-
Experience coordinating events, activations or major sporting events
-
Outstanding organisational and time management skills
-
Confidence managing multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines
-
A collaborative, hands-on approach with a willingness to pitch in wherever needed
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
-
Proficiency across Microsoft Office
-
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays throughout the Big Bash season
-
A Victorian Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) and a current driver’s licence.
- Experience working in sport or supporting commercial partners is highly regarded but not essential.
