Description

This is not your typical data role.

At the Cowboys Community Foundation, data is more than dashboards and reporting — it is about understanding impact, informing better practice, strengthening programs and helping create better futures for young people, families and communities across North Queensland.

As the charitable arm of the Cowboys Group, the Cowboys Community Foundation delivers a broad range of community programs and initiatives focused on education, wellbeing, employment pathways and community impact. From NRL Cowboys House through to grassroots community programs and fundraising initiatives, our work creates real and lasting change across the region.

We are looking for an exceptional Data & Insights Officer to lead and help drive the next phase of our impact, evaluation and insights capability across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to take some ownership of this space for the Charity, bring fresh thinking and innovation and help shape how we use data to inform strategy, demonstrate impact and continuously improve the work we do.

If you are passionate about using data and insights for purpose-driven outcomes — and want your work to genuinely matter — this could be the role for you.

About the role

Working across our programs, fundraising and leadership teams, you will help transform data into meaningful insights that support evidence-based decision making and strengthen organisational impact.

You will play a key role in building and evolving our reporting and insights capability, helping establish scalable systems, frameworks and processes that support both operational and strategic outcomes.

This is more than a reporting role — it is an opportunity to help drive and shape the Foundation’s data and impact journey.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the development of dashboards, reports and data visualisations
  • Driving improvements in reporting capability and data quality across the organisation
  • Analysing trends, insights, risks and opportunities to support strategic decision making
  • Supporting impact measurement and evaluation initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders across programs, fundraising and leadership
  • Helping develop KPI frameworks and reporting systems
  • Translating complex information into clear and meaningful insights for a range of audiences
  • Supporting a culture of evidence-based practice and continuous improvement

About you

You are someone who:

  • wants to help lead and shape a growing impact and insights function
  • enjoys solving problems and identifying opportunities through data
  • can turn information into meaningful and actionable insights
  • communicates confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced and purpose-driven environment
  • is motivated by making a real difference

Experience with Power BI, Excel, data visualisation and reporting is highly desirable.

Why join us?

At the Cowboys Community Foundation, you will be joining a passionate and values-led team committed to improving outcomes for young people, families and communities across North Queensland.

Every day, our people contribute to programs and initiatives that support education, wellbeing, resilience and opportunity — and you will play an important role in helping us better understand and strengthen that impact.

We offer:

  • A genuinely purpose-driven workplace
  • Salary sacrificing benefits
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A supportive and inclusive team culture
  • The opportunity to help shape and influence organisational best practice
  • The chance to be part of a team making a difference every single day
