We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Disability Support Worker to

join our team in the Rosebery area. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support

individuals with mild intellectual disabilities, ensuring they receive the care, guidance, and

encouragement necessary to lead a fulfilling, independent life.

Your Role & Our Client

Key Responsibilities:

β€’ Mobility & Transport: Provide supervision and motivation for mobility exercises.

Assist with safe walking, and facilitate referrals to an exercise physiologist as

needed.

β€’ Nutrition & Hydration: Assist with healthy meal shopping, preparation, and

adherence to a balanced diet. Support the individual in maintaining regular meals

and overcoming challenges such as skipping breakfast.

β€’ Mental Health & Behavior: Guide the individual with daily chores and medication

adherence. Encourage active participation in household tasks and ensure

compliance with medication routines.

β€’ Sleep: Help establish and maintain healthy sleep patterns by encouraging calming

activities and sticking to a consistent sleep schedule.

β€’ Communication: Build rapport through engaging and supportive conversations,

fostering a positive relationship.

β€’ Personal Hygiene: Prompt the individual to maintain daily hygiene routines,

reinforcing the importance of good hygiene habits.

β€’ Continence/Bowel Management: Assist with medication management and

monitor bowel health, supporting the individual with constipation concerns.

About You:

β€’ Experience in disability support or a similar field is preferred

β€’ Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals.

β€’ Compassionate, patient, and able to work with individuals who may display noncompliant behaviors.

β€’ Understanding of how to motivate and support individuals to adhere to health

routines and improve their overall well-being.

β€’ Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Essential Qualifications:

β€’ Certificate III in Disability Support

β€’ NDIS Worker Screening Check (current or willing to obtain)

β€’ Employee Working with Children Check (NSW)

β€’ National Police Clearance (new)

β€’ Current First Aid and CPR Certificates

β€’ Australian Driver’s License + your own reliable, insured vehicle
