About the Role
As an Android Developer, you will design, build and maintain Android applications and platform features that enhance the CommBox user experience. You’ll work closely with Product, UX, QA and Engineering teams to develop reliable, scalable and intuitive software solutions.
You’ll have the opportunity to contribute across the full development lifecycle, from concept and architecture through to deployment and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain Android applications and platform features.
- Build high-quality, scalable and maintainable code using modern Android development practices.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers to deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Integrate applications with cloud services, APIs and third-party platforms.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve software issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Optimise application performance, security and reliability.
- Support software releases, testing and deployment activities.
- Contribute ideas that improve product functionality and customer experience.
- Stay current with emerging Android technologies and development frameworks.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years’ experience in Android application development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK.
- Experience with Jetpack libraries and modern Android architecture patterns.
- Understanding of REST APIs and cloud-connected applications.
- Experience working with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Knowledge of software testing and debugging methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Bonus Points For
- Experience developing software for Android-based hardware devices.
- Knowledge of Flutter or cross-platform development frameworks.
- Experience with embedded Android systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Experience integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into applications.
