About Specialist Dentistry
Specialist Dentistry is based at Carrara Village Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast, bringing Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Oral Surgery together in one practice. We’re part of the Coastal Dental Care network, so you get the close, local feel of a small practice with the backing of a wider dentist-owned group across 18 Gold Coast and Northern NSW practices.
About the role
This role is predominately reception, with dental assisting cover when the practice needs it. You’ll be the first point of contact for our patients and referring practices, keeping the front desk running smoothly, and stepping into the surgery to assist chairside or in sterilisation as required. It’s a casual position, 3 days a week to start, with your roster flexed within our Monday to Thursday trading hours and the specific days confirmed with our Practice Manager. Weekends are always yours, and there’s a genuine path to more days, full-time hours and a permanent position as the practice continues to grow.
What you’ll be doing
- Greeting patients and visitors, and running day-to-day front desk operations
- Managing the appointment book in D4W: bookings, reschedules and confirmations
- Answering phones and emails promptly and professionally
- Handling patient payments, invoicing and end-of-day banking
- Stepping into the surgery to assist chairside and in sterilisation when rostered
- Keeping the reception area and practice presentation neat and welcoming
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Experience in a Dental Care or customer-facing reception/administration role
- A professional, well-presented approach
- Strong organisational skills, comfortable juggling phones, bookings and patients at once
- Confident, friendly communicator, in person and on the phone
Preferred
- Dental reception experience, or a Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting
- Familiarity with Dental for Windows (D4W)
- Experience assisting chairside or in sterilisation
