This role sits within CoAct, delivered in partnership with BUSY at Work. BUSY at Work, the Apprenticeship Community is a national collective of Australian Apprenticeship Support Services providers, with over 40 years of experience in connecting employers and apprentices. We offer advice and tailored support for apprentices, trainees, and businesses to support successful careers and skilled, productive workplaces.

As an Apprenticeship Field Officer, you’ll be a trusted point of contact for apprentices and employers, supporting them throughout their apprenticeship journey. You’ll manage relationships, conduct regular site visits, monitor progress, ensure compliance, and drive positive outcomes through strong engagement and proactive case management.

This is a hands-on, field-based role suited to someone who enjoys building connections, creating positive outcomes by providing genuine people support and making a real impact. You’ll play a key role promoting and supporting the take up of Apprenticeships in the region by delivering the services of an Australian Connect Provider. This role will require business development, generating apprenticeship commencements, account management and support activities to meet and exceed set individual and business KPIs.

Exploring the Role

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Promote traineeships and apprenticeships, securing commencement opportunities
  • Participate in marketing and promotional initiatives, including school visits and other venues
  • Foster relationships with employers, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), and industry stakeholders
  • Maximise business opportunities with existing clients
  • Stay updated on policy changes and new initiatives within the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network
  • Guide clients through sign-up processes and government forms
  • Provide quality account management services 
  • Ensure precise system data entry
  • Provide initial and ongoing support to Australian Apprentices including, facilitating face-to-face progress contacts
  • Administer effective tests to assess individuals’ skill levels, identify gaps, and evaluate aptitude for various training paths and occupations

  • Confident, people-focused professional who enjoys working autonomously in the field while being a part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including influencing and negotiation
  • Proactive go-getter who can self-manage to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks at hand
  • Ability to analyse market and industry trends to support service delivery
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret guidelines, procedures and contracts
  • Proven track record of achieving KPIs and performance outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience within business development or sales
  • Knowledge of the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (highly desirable)
  • Experience in building relationships with employers, RTOs, and industry stakeholders to support workforce development and employment opportunities
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
