About the role
The Women in Renewables Program Officer position is a paid internship, ideal for a student wanting to work in the renewable energy sector on a part-time basis, whilst having the flexibility to continue their studies.
You will be responsible for supporting the 2026/27 WiR Scholarship program which enables women in the renewable energy sector to apply for a scholarship for professional leadership development. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work across some wider organisational initiatives and projects as needed.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Assisting with the collation and review of applications for the WiR Scholarship program, ensuring information submitted is accurate, complete and in line with required criteria.
- Assisting with the preparation and issue of correspondence to applicants for the WiR Scholarship program regarding the outcome of their application and supporting the preparation and publication of WiR Scholarship recipient information on the CEC website.
- Providing generalised administration and support to other teams, including day-to-day operations and some project work.
This is a part-time, temporary position working 15.2 hours per fortnight for approximately four (4) months. Salary for this role is $60K to $65K plus super, pro-rata.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is currently studying (undergraduate or masters) and has a keen interest in pursuing a career in the renewable energy sector. You will be a strong communicator, who:
- Can work with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Be highly organised and enjoy working in a busy environment
- Has an eye for detail and enjoys problem-solving
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point)
- Previous administration experience is a bonus but not a requirement
